Bluewater Canoes
Bluewater canoes are carefully designed to suit your needs. They have the Freedom series of modern asymmetrical canoes, great for tripping or just mucking around. The more traditionally shaped Saugeens are our most popular boats. For the conventional canoeist Bluewater has the Prospector and the Peterborough. One of them will be perfect for your kind of canoeing.
Bluewater Freedom 16'6" Scout
This is a great family canoe with modern styling and performance characteristics. The wide 36" beam provides generous stability and the freeboard is a little higher than the 17' Tripper for added comfort and safety.
The Scout is our most popular Freedom canoe. It is big enough to load up for a one week trip, and small enough to handle at the cottage. The kids won't often comment on the aesthetics, or the fine construction, or the ease of paddling, but when they get old enough to appreciate such things they'll know why you bought the canoe. Our lightest boats, in vacuum bagged epoxy laminates, will still be able to take your children's children out paddling. Try one out and you'll see what all the fuss is about.

Bluewater Saugeen 16'6"
With good reason, this is one of the most popular traditionally shaped canoes. It is stable and exhibits a good balance between tracking and manoeuvrability. An easy canoe to paddle, it is perfect for day trips or family excursions of two weeks or more

Bluewater Freedom 17 Tripper
The narrow beam on the Freedom 17 makes it a superb canoe for the experienced tripper. This beautifully fair asymmetrical hull, with the widest point 6" aft of the center, increases overall speed and makes paddling easier.
A nice detail found on all Freedoms is the spray rail molded into the hull half way between the sheer and the waterline near the bow. This deflects moderate sized waves and dampens the pitching motion in larger waves.
With slightly more rocker than most modern canoes, designer Steve Killing has managed to gain back the turning ability found in traditional canoe shapes without sacrificing the speed of the modern hull. It is ideally suited for wilderness trips and is surprisingly easy for experienced solo paddling.
